Annual Marine Cargo Insurance: when your goods are carried by others

Annual marine cargo is subject to an annual premium based on the value of all shipments that the insured is responsible to insure. It is the simplest and most convenient way to cover import and export risks.

Our Annual Marine Cargo Insurance covers loss or damage to cargo (which includes shipping containers and/or flat racks in your care, custody and control) during import, export and within New Zealand transit.

Our Annual Marine Cargo policy has a broad, market-leading and competitive cover incorporating internationally recognised Institute

Clauses with our own special conditions and additional clauses.

Stock and equipment at exhibitions or while on display can also be covered under the policy.

    Professional Carriers

    Carriers Cargo Liability

Carriers Cargo Liability Insurance protects the carrier against their statutory liability under the NZ Carriage of Goods Act 1979 for loss or damage to their customers’ goods or livestock.

If the carrier chooses not to accept the customer’s claim, the policy remains in force, with agreed legal costs covered. The cover remains in force for one year should the carrier elect at a later time to accept the claim.

Goods in transit (carriers) insurance provides the carrier with cover for the following:
